The International Society for Industrial Process Tomography

First Announcement and Call for Papers

ProcTom2008, Zakopane

The 5th International Symposium on Process Tomography in Poland
as a part of the ISIPT conference series in August 25-26, 2008, Zakopane
http://proctom2008.kis.p.lodz.pl

Supported by
The International Society
for Industrial Process Tomography
Organized by
Computer Engineering Department,
Technical University of Lodz

Scope

The objective of the symposium is to bring together researchers, developers and practitioners to discuss the latest scientific results and methods in process tomography. ProcTom2008, which is held in Zakopane, continues the popular and attractive series of process tomography society meetings, previously organised as Jurata 2000, Wroclaw 2002, Lodz 2004 and Warszawa 2006. The main aim of the symposium is to encourage interactive discussion on developing methods of image reconstruction, data processing, visualisation with the special interest directed on the industrial and research applications. Because the science of process tomography is very wide (hard/soft fields techniques based on disciplines including electrical, optical and nuclear engineering), the symposium will also focus on possibilities to bring together experts from different modalities to share knowledge and propose better tomography utilisation.

Venue

The Organising Committee decided to hold the symposium in Zakopane, the Poland's premier mountain resort. This charming and picturesque capital of the Polish Tatra Mountains will be an ideal place to combine the scientific events with leisure activities.

Topics

The ProcTom2008 covers all topics in process tomography including but not limited to:

  • 2D, 3D image reconstruction in hard- and soft-field tomography
  • Construction and development of measurement units and sensor design
  • Data handling (visualisation, processing, analysis)
  • Tomography-related software
  • Modelling and simulation
  • Industrial/Research applications
  • Future trends of process tomography
